Mourne Tour Guide Training

We are delighted to announce the appointment of JB Associates to deliver a bespoke training course based around the themes of the Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership (eg Granite industry, Silent Valley, Annalong Cornmill, Narnia etc). 

The course will involve 8 full days of training (approx. 9.30 – 4.30) to include research work as well as presentation skills required to lead a tour group.  Some preparation work will also be required outside of this time. 

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an Open College Network (OCN) Level 2 Award in Tour Guiding Skills & Worldhost.

Fee - £50 per participant (tea/coffee and lunch will be supplied each day). This course has been heavily subsidised by the Heritage Lottery Fund. 
Venue – To be confirmed (likely to be around the Newcastle / Bryansford area).

Assessment Process Places are limited and we may therefore need to apply a screening process. In the event of needing to allocate on this basis, participants will be assessed against the following criteria: 
1. Availability to attend (20%)
2. Reason for wanting to do the course (30%)
3. How you intend to use these skills in the future (50%)
