The Mourne & Slieve Croob Cycle Routes pass through spectacular countryside ranging from beaches and bays to the majestic Mourne Mountains and hidden treasures of Slieve Croob, from a bustling fishing harbour to a beautiful hillside village, past castles, early Christian and ancient stone monuments.

Please choose from the selection of Cycle Routes below for more details on each:

Route 1: The Newcastle/Lough Island Reavy Route

This is a circular route which takes you through some of the most spectacular scenery, off the main tourist routes. Parts of the route have steep climbs.

Route 2: The Slieve Croob Route

This is a strenuous circular route taking in some very attractive countryside, with stunning views of the Mourne Mountains and Slieve Croob.

Route 3: The Legananny Route

This is an interesting circular cycle route between Finnis and Castlewellan, passing through some very pleasant countryside with spectacular views of the Mourne Mountains.

Route 4: The Cranfield/Greencastle Route

A beautiful route towards Cranfield beach and a visit to historic Greencastle.

Route 5: The Knockchree Route

A beautiful circular cycle route between Kilkeel and Attical, passing through some lovely countryside with dramatic views of the Mourne Mountains.

Route 6: The Head Road Route

This is a spectacular circular cycle route beneath the High Mournes, with beautiful views across countryside of patchwork fields and stone walls to the Irish Sea.

Route 7: The Rostrevor Route

This is an interesting circular route between the villages of Rostrvor and Hilltown, passing through pleasant countryside with dramatic views of the Rostrevor and Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.
