1: Kingdom of Mourne Festival

IThis is a two-week festival that happens somewhere between mid-July and mid-August. This festival improves local community relations and it is also a major attraction for holidaymakers. Events include sheep dog trials, street hockey, children's fancy dress, sand castle competitions, vintage vehicles, live open air & pub entertainment, tennis coaching, exhibitions and demonstrations, fishing competitions, fireworks display and much more which appeals to locals and visitors alike.

2: Mourne International Walking Festival

The Mourne Mountains and surrounding area offers some of the best walking in Ireland set within stunning scenery. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), there is not only a huge diversity of flora and fauna but also a wealth of heritage, myths and legends. The Festival is the ideal time to come and discover the delights of the area, sample some of the excellent local cuisine and accommodation, enjoy traditional music and most importantly participate in some wonderful walking.

3: Kilbroney 2000

roney Park hosts a day long event of motor memorabilia. A large selection of classic & vintage cars can be viewed with motor club enthusiasts from all over Ireland in attendance. This is a great event for the family with fun fairs, stalls and live entertainment in the gig-rig. The majestic surroundings of Kilbroney Park make this a special event and all proceeds are donated to local charities. For the motor enthusiasts, auto jumbles and special stalls offer an opportunity to acquire needed motor parts.

4: Warrenpoint International "Maiden of the Mourne" Festival

This is a two-week festival that happens somewhere between mid-July and mid-August. This festival offers something for all the family, with a range of events including band concerts, outdoor entertainment, sporting events & top celebrity performances, parades, children's events and The Maiden of the Mourne Competition featuring entrants from across the world.

5: Celtic Fusion

For a truly exhilarating live, musical experience! Celtic Fusion is the only Festival of its kind in Ireland, showcasing the hottest new talent on the international Celtic music scene alongside some of the most famous names in the business. The Festival takes place in a natural amphitheatre in Castlewellan Forest Park and in a number of other venues across the District. Organised by Down District Council's Cultural and Economic Development Department.

6: Mourne Mountain Marathon

The Mourne Mountain Marathon is a competitive event for teams of two. At the start of each day teams are presented with a course of varying numbers of control markers which are identified by 6-figure map references. They must visit each control in the prescribed order but may chose their own route between each marker. A feature of the event is the overnight camp at which all teams must be self-sufficient with everything being carried throughout the two days of competition. The event is held during September.

7: Fiddlers Green Festival

Fiddler's Green Festival is a family-established annual celebration of Irish music and culture with an international flavour, which takes place in the scenic village of Rostrevor. The Festival includes the annual Hall of Fame award, presented to the person or group who has made a significant contribution to Irish music or culture. The nightly folk club features the best of Irish & International Folk performances.

8: Annalong Harbor Hooley

Annalong Harbor Hooley is a weekend festival beginning on 13th August This festival offers something for everyone. The main event is the Mackerel Massacre (a fishing competition), followed by a raft race, street theatre, vintage car show, talent competition for children and the Solid Gold Show. This event attracts people on a local and national basis.

9: Warrenpoint Blues on the Bay Festival

The Blues on the Bay Festival takes place in Warrenpoint over the last bank holiday weekend in May. It attracts quality Blues & Jazz performances and includes 25 acts throughout the weekend in the selected bars. There are three main showcase gigs featuring top class international artists. Music workshops also feature throughout the weekend. This is an excellent weekend with a great mix of music to suit all tastes.

10: Tropicana

Tropicana is real family entertainment paradise, offering outdoor heated seawater fun pools, giant slides, bouncy castle and an adventure playground. Inside an exhibition space provides a haven for adults to relax, knowing that their children are in safe hands in the Tropicana's creche or kiddies' club. An extensive programme of evening variety shows, concerts and cinema presentations enhances the Tropicana's family appeal.
