TREES FOR MOURNE PROJECT

Mourne Heritage Trust would like to invite landowners interested in creating new Oakwood to participate in our Trees For Mourne project.

MHT will supply and plant the trees and supply and install tree guards. Trees would be planted at 7-10m spacing = 40 – 50 trees per acre.

The aim is for the woods to remain as productive farmland (e.g. for pasture wood sheep can graze immediately after planting) and still eligible for SFP. One or a combination of the following options are available: 1) Pasture wood 2) Coppice 3) Arable wood.

Sites should be a minimum of three acres.

These sites would not be eligible for Forest Service or DARD woodland grants.

For more information or to book a site assessment visit please contact MHT offices on: 028 4176 9825/028 4372 4059
